Dr. Reid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida. In addition to teaching, research, and service responsibilities to the College, he is the Center Director of the Florida Center for Leadership in Public Health Practice, a Type 2 College-wide Center. The Center includes the Florida Center for Public Health Preparedness and the Public Health Leadership Institute of Florida. He has received several grants from federal agencies, the latest being a 3 year award from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for approximately $2.5 million to establish the Florida Center for Public Health Preparedness. In recent years, Dr. Reid has served as the President of the Florida Public Health Association, the Chair of the National Public Health Leadership Development Network, and as a member of the Public Heath Practice Council of the Association of Schools of Public Health. His research interests include workforce development, leadership, and public health practice.
